DJ Kent - Masters Of The Turntable Jedi
DJ Kent was the DJ for the group Yotsukaido Nature in the late 90es and collaborated with many big names in J-Rap, incl. ECD, Shakkazombie, Suiken, Nigo, as well as international acts like UNKLE. This mixtape is probably from the 90es, although I couldn't find any info about this. What you have is a Star Wars-themed mix with what you can expect from it: an intro with the OST theme accompanied by scratches, vocal skits from the movie here and there... As far as the selection, it's 90es NYC rap, from underground to mainstream. The mix starts pretty well with an intricate beta juggling over a Mad Skillz joint, and the first side is pretty enjoyable. Unfortunately the mix lacks of sustaining this interest all the way through, a bit too much of boring mainstream tracks, and a weird ending: a full uncut version of Sugar Hill Gang's anthem that abruptly stops in the end.
